  • Title: 21 Year Old Two-Toed Female Sloth
  • Name: Carol Smith
  • Location: Olympia, Washington
  • We are very sad to have to rehome our sloth, but are downsizing homes.

Tai Chi is 21 years old. We've been her pet parents since she was 6 months old. She is great about sitting with you to watch TV or read, but it will take time first for her to get used to new people.

She needs a dedicated room within your home. A room that will always be at least 67 degrees or warmer. She will damage furniture and other items so you don't want her to free roam your house without direct supervision. We built a jungle gym for her to hang on when she is in her room as well as an enclosure for those uncommon moments when you need her more secure (such as vacuuming her room). You are welcome to take those as it might make the transition easier for her.

She is easy to care for. We feed her cooked veggies as her base food and add certain fruits and cooked eggs to supplement. She pottys about every 5 days in a Tupperware container although sometimes she pottys on the floor under her jungle gym so we put potty pads there just in case.

She has been very healthy. We have all of her paperwork from when we bought her including the required permit at that time.

We want her to go to a great home! Our adoption fee is only 200$ because she is quite old and because we aren't interested in money but in finding the best home.

We will only let her go with someone who lives not more than 1 days drive from western Washington state. We don't want her stressed by a long trip and we will not ship her.

If interested, please contact us at bioforsalmon@comcast.net and answer the following questions:

    Where do you live

How many people are in your household

    How many children and ages

What experience do you have with exotic pets

What other animals live with you and are they indoor or outdoors

Describe the space you would keep her in

If you sound like a potential good fit, we will contact you back and ask to talk. We will also want a FaceTime tour of the proposed space for her and 3 references. But no need for that unless we contact you after reading your responses to our questions.
We'll never share your email with anyone else.
