Ellie, The captive bred female African Rock Hyrax

This is Ellie, our 3 year old bottle raised African rock hyrax. We named her Ellie because this is the nearest living relative to the African elephant! It's extremely rare to find a captive bred one...Almost all of the ones in the United States are wild caught. My wife and I bottle raised this girl and then used her in some of our educational animal shows. We eventually decided to use her as a breeder, since they're so rare, but we've been unable to find a male. Ellei would be a major draw for any zoo or educational facility. She'll take food from anyone and loves to have her back and back end rubbed. We will not ship...pick-up is in Belleville, Michigan.
